Dan Thorne, a product designer at The Royal Mint, has created a richly detailed illustration that captures Loki’s mischievous essence and weaves together the key myths that define him.

Loki sits perched in a tree, a wry smile playing across his face as he clutches a sprig of mistletoe — the seemingly harmless plant he fashioned into the weapon that killed Baldr. Coiled among the branches beneath his feet is Jörmungandr, the World Serpent — one of Loki’s monstrous children, a gigantic beast destined to encircle the entire earth and ultimately battle Thor himself at Ragnarök.

Every element of the design tells a story — from the deceptive calm of Loki’s expression to the lurking menace of the serpent below. At 90mm × 52mm, the generous surface of this 10oz bar gives Thorne’s intricate artwork the space to reveal its full depth and detail.
